When times are hard and things seem to be overwhelming, where do you run? When it seems that life is busy and things are coming at you faster then you can handle, where do you run?
The Scripture tells us in Psalms 31:19-20:
"Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion
From the strife of tongues."
Yes, things are happening. And yes, there seems to be little or nothing you can do about it. But always remember that you serve a God that is full of goodness for His children. The enemy would love to get you to look at your problems or circumstances but the only way to do that is to take your eyes off the Lord. You cannot focus on two things at once. So I want to encourage you today to remain focus on the Lord and his goodness not your problems or circumstances. In verse 20 of Psalms, he says, "You (God) shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence." When we stay focused on the Lord and trust Him then we are "hide" by the Lord's presence. He is our protector and shield. He goes on to say that we are even protected from the "plots of man". We are protected from the enemy and from those the enemy would use to cause us harm.
Where I live, we had severe storms come through last night. There are picture of roofs missing from houses, electricity has been out for many for 18 hours, and many tress have been up rooted. The storms came and caused much destruction, but there are many things that came through it untouched. Most of the focus is on the destruction rather than on the things that remain. I want to encourage you to not focus on the destruction that the storm is causing but keep your eyes on the on thing that remains strong and true through the storm and that is the Lord. Today, run to the one that holds all things in His hand; Run to the Lord!
