“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” —John 13:34. This is the scripture that was on my heart this morning. Jesus called us to love one another, not similar, not close to, but just like He loved us we should love one another. That means that time, money, life-style, social status, economic status, race, culture, or location are not barriers for our love for someone else. I may not like their view politically, or their decisions morally, or I may not even like their physical actions but none of things should limit or deter me from loving someone! If you and I truly love people then we have an obligation to show them the love of Christ!! To do otherwise would be hate, not love! Love is telling them that the road that they are on is headed in a direction that will lead to their eternal destruction. Love is telling them that they are hurting themselves and others around them. Love is telling them that that without Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior then they will spend eternity separated from Him. Love is telling them that they can turn around on that road and head back the other way because Jesus has made a way for them through the cross. If we are going to love people then we are going to have to tell them of their lost condition without Christ while also showing them the alternative and new direction in and through Christ. Also understand this, it is not responsibility to change anyone, that is God's responsibility!! Jesus told us to show them His love but He never told us to change a single person other than our self and He really didn't even tell us to change our self. He told us to come to him and He would change us! What He told me is to love others by showing them a love that can only come from Him and then for me to leave the results (the CHANGE) up to HIM!!! If I believe that the Lord is powerful enough to change my heart and life, and He is, then I must have faith that He is also powerful enough to change the heart and life of others as well. I must admit this is not easy for me!! I want to see immediate action/change in people! I want to see them change NOW!! The Lord can do that but He usually works in a slow and methodical way so that change is lifelong and has time to take root so the enemy cannot come in a steal away things before they have had time to take root and grow! Let's go out today and be the change that this world needs to see! Let's go out and be the change that we want to see in others. Let's go out today and show the Love of Christ that can cause a blind man to see, a lame man to walk, and a dead person to rise up! Let's go and love on others as Christ has called us to do by exhibiting His love to "each other"!! God bless you!!
